Galas: Gala apples are medium to large in size and usually red striped on a yellow background. They are sweet and juicy with a mild flavor and a thinner skin than most apples, which makes it great for kids and salads. Gala apples originated in New Zealand. They are a cross between a Golden Delicious and a Cox Orange Pippin.
