Paul Madden is a fourth generation orchardist, taking over the family farm in 1990 from his father Blaine. Born and raised on the farm, Paul grew up taking care of the orchard. He was thinning and driving tractor at age 12 and by the time he was 16 he was running the apple crews during harvest. After graduating from high school he went to study music at University of Washington and during his fourth year his band Aviary was signed to CBS Records. Having been given the chance of a lifetime he packed all his stuff and moved to Los Angeles where he stayed for the next 10 years pursuing his music career. After meeting his wife Janice and deciding they wanted to raise their children in the country they headed up north to start a family. He looks back on his decision to come back to the farm as one of the best decisions he ever made. Paul says “There is nothing quite like growing an apple from bloom to bite”.
